The Tangkoko Nature Reserve is a flora and fauna conservation area on Mount Tangkoko in the district of Bitung in the province of North Sulawesi, about one hour’s drive from Manado. The reserve is particularly attractive for its unique wildlife that can be observed roaming free in the forest.
The tarsiers, the black macaque monkeys, maleo birds, cuscus and thehornbills make this their habitat.
Tarsiers are the smallest primates in the world – only about a fist size – who make Tangkoko their last refuge and are found only in Sulawesi. Tarsiers (tarsius spectrum) look particularly cute because of their big saucer eyes. Locals know them as: tangkasi . Since these are nocturnal animals they can be observed only at night.
The crested black macaques (macaca nigra), endemic to Sulawesi, usually come in large social groups, and can be seen playing, fighting or grooming themselves. While the cuscus, a pouched animal can be seen among the trees when one is particularly lucky.
Located about an hour’s drive from Manado, you will first pass the Batuputih Nature Park that lies between Batuputih Bawah sub district and the Tangkoko Nature Reserve at Batuangus.
Covering an area of 615 hectares, the Batuputih Nature Park is a savanna suitable for camping, outbound activities and relaxing by the beach. Since Batuputih is mostly visited by tourists, it is therefore also the most well known, although it is only one of four conservation areas at Tangkoko.
In addition to the Batuputih Park, theTangkoko Reserve covers a total area of 3,196 hectares , where the Batuangus Nature Reserve has 635 hectares (located between the Tangkoko Nature Reserve and Pinangunian village), while the Duasaudara Nature Reserve covers 4,299 hectares (which includes Mount Duasaudara and its surrounding areas).
To Stay
At Batuputih are inns and guest houses managed by local inhabitants for rent to visitors. Their rates vary depending on facilities.
Tips
Here are some tips given by travel agents: Dress appropriately. Wear light, breathable clothing that dries quickly. Drab colours are preferable; avoid whites and reds. Although it is hot, long sleeves and pants prevent scratches and insect bites. Use insect repellent and tuck your pants into your socks to minimize insect, leech and mite bites.

Pada dasarnya pembuatan visa harus melewati kedutaan besar negara tujuan Anda. Belakangan ini sudah banyak kedutaan asing yang menggunakan sistem online untuk proses pembuatan visa. Dengan begitu tentu akan lebih memudahkan Anda. Kunjungi website kedutaan besar negara yang akan Anda kunjungi dan lakukan pendaftaran secara online. Saat pendaftaran, Anda akan diminta untuk memilih hari dan jam perjanjian untuk datang ke kantor kedutaan besar negara yang bersangkutan.
Isi Formulir.
Pada saat mendaftar online ada beberapa formulir yang harus diisi dengan lengkap. Pastikan semua data yang diisikan merupakan data sebenarnya karena jika Anda berbohong maka akan menyulitkan Anda pada akhirnya. Jangan sampai Anda melakukan kesalahan pada bagian ini.
Lengkapi Persyaratan.

Wawancara
Untuk mendapatkan visa ada proses wawancara yang wajib untuk Anda lakukan. Wawancara merupakan bagian terpenting dalam proses ini. Jawablah pertanyaan dengan tenang, jelas dan jujur. Mungkin tidak semua petugas menyenangkan. Ada beberapa pewawancara yang menanyakan hingga detail tapi Anda juga harus tetap menjawabnya. Jika Anda belum yakin dengan kemampuan bahasa asing Anda, jangan ragu untuk menjawabnya dengan menggunakan Bahasa Indonesia.
Mengambil Visa.
Setelah wawancara dan visa Anda disetujui dan bisa diterbitkan, Anda akan diberi kartu oleh petugas untuk pengambilan visa.

Sedikit berbagi tentang pengalaman mengurus aplikasi visa ke Jepang di Indonesia, semoga bermanfaat bagi teman-teman yang membutuhkan.

Pengurusan visa Jepang termasuk ga ribet asalkan dokumen yang dipersyaratkan lengkap, proses pengurusan visa sekitar 4 hari kerja.
Persyaratan dokumen sebagai berikut (dokumen harus disusun berurutan pada saat menyerahkan aplikasi visa)
Paspor (asli).

Fotokopi KTP
Fotokopi Kartu Mahasiswa atau Surat Keterangan Belajar (hanya bila masih mahasiswa)
Bukti pemesanan tiket
Jadwal Perjalanan dalam format yang telah ditentukan, isinya tempat yang mau dikunjungi dan akan menginap dimana. Jika menginap di hotel/hostel, lebih baik bila bukti booking dilampirkan.
Fotokopi dokumen yang bisa menunjukkan hubungan dengan pemohon yang lain, seperti kartu keluarga, akta lahir, dlsb.
Jika pengajuan aplikasi lebih dari satu orang/grup. Pada dasarnya, kalau keluarga mau mengajukan visa, cukup satu orang perwakilan yang datang memasukkan aplikasi visa, tetapi harus bisa dibuktikan hubungan kekeluargaannya.
Dokumen yang berkenaan dengan biaya perjalanan – fotokopi buku tabungan 5 bukan terakhir. Apakah ada aturan saldo minimal? Tidak ada, tapi setidaknya cukup untuk menjamin biaya akomodasi/transportasi/makan di Jepang.
Jika menginap di tempat teman/saudara yang tinggal di Jepang, harus melampirkan Invitation Letter dan fotokopi dokumen tinggal/ID orang yang bersangkutan. Contoh invitation letter disini.
Pengajuan visa di Kedutaan Jepang dimulai pukul 08.30-12.00 tiap hari Senin-Jumat, lebih baik jika datang pagi (sebelum pukul 8 misalnya) karena sudah mulai ada antrian walaupun gerbang kedutaan belum dibuka. Siapkan kartu identitas karena setelah gerbang dibuka, akan ada pos sekuriti untuk mengambil identitas visitor (ditukar dgn kartu identitas).
Setelah masuk, ambil nomor antrian dan tunggu giliran. Petugas di loket cukup ramah, langsung memeriksa kelengkapan dokumen. Jika ada kekurangan, akan diminta datang kembali setelah lengkap. Setelah selesai menyerahkan aplikasi lengkap, kita akan diberi tanda terima untuk mengambil visa 4 hari kemudian. Waktu pengambilan visa adalah hari Senin-Jumat pukul 13.30-15.00.
Ringkasan dan beberapa catatan penting
Waktu pengajuan aplikasi: Senin- Jumat 08.30 – 12.00. Waktu pengambilan visa: Senin-Jumat 13.30-15.00.
Pengajuan visa harus sesuai wilayah juridiksi kedutaan/konsulat Jepang (tergantung kartu identitas kita masuk wilayah juridiksi mana). Pembagian wilayah juridiksi dapat dilihat disini.
Pastikan dokumen lengkap dan sudah diurutkan saat mengajukan aplikasi visa di loket.
Berpakaian rapi dan memakai sepatu saat mengajukan visa.
